Social Media Manager/Specialist
Specializing in the Optical Industry

I started working in the social media content space in 2015 with some indie authors. I enjoy shining the spotlight on the things that I am passionate about.

My road to social content creating.
In 2015 my family and I relocated to northern Michigan. I was a stay at home mom from working full time. I am an avid reader and I started following some authors on social media and went to several "Takeovers". I was instantly drawn in. I was then introduced to so many self published authors looking for help with their content and graphics. I started learning lingo, products, websites, and platforms.
It wasn't until 2019 I joined the association and got to know the background of the work they do. Being offered a position to be on the convention committee, I quickly agreed because I also love to plan a party. With the committee's permission I started making graphics for the class titles, the events we were planning on having, the vendors, and everything else that would make this party stand out to our audience. I loved every minute of it, and still do.

It all started with a social media committee and an association.
I have always loved designing. I am drawn to art and I enjoy creating. Growing up my family was always creating starting with my grandmothers cooking, my mom knitting or crocheting, my sisters and I painted ceramics and on canvas. There is always a work in progress. Learning new techniques and using new mediums calls to me. That feeling of success you get when there is a project you don't quite know how you are going to complete, yet you see the final product as if it were already done.
Joining the social media committee was a challenge I took seriously and the results have been amazing to see. Not only has it benefitted the association in a big way, it as benefitted me and my creative brain in more ways that I could even imagine.
